Our Rescue Mission

We work tirelessly to transform the lives of stray and abandoned Puerto Rico street dogs, employing strategies such as fostering and rehabilitation, adoption, and educational outreach.

With over four years of tireless effort, we've already made a significant impact, helping hundreds of animals. Our mission is clear: to offer temporary care, expand our facility, and provide sanctuary for even more animals in need.

The call to action is now, as we strive to make a tangible difference in the lives of these vulnerable animals. Every corner turned reveals another rescue in need, from mothers and their puppies seeking refuge under boardwalks to lone pups wandering the streets. Together, we're working to create a better world for animals, one rescue at a time.

Fostering

Fostering saves dogs lives!

Fostering is our cornerstone, giving dogs a second chance at life. There is a lack of fostering care on the island. Fostering is a half-way stage between rescue and adoption.

Fostering allows rescuers time to coordinate:

  • Medical treatments and veterinary visits

  • Find an adopter

  • Coordinate travel plans off the island

We believe this is the most crucial part of the rescuing process and with having more fostering available we will be able to save more dogs lives on the island.

In our rescue fostering facility, we provide a nurturing environment for dogs to be fostered, ensuring they receive the care and time needed to be fully prepared for adoption into loving homes, within Puerto Rico and also beyond its shores. Through fostering, we're directly preparing them for their journey to loving forever homes.

There are hundreds of puppies and dogs who need our help. We continue to expand our facility to be able to take in and help even more who desperately need it. Fostering gives animals a second chance at life. Though not without its challenges, the transformation in these animals is nothing short of miraculous.

Adoptions

We collaborate with organizations and volunteers to relocate these dogs to the mainland, uniting them with adoptive families or suitable shelters. This initiative is paramount because resources on the island are scarce, and many dogs stand a better chance at a fulfilling life when moved to the mainland.

Once the adopter is approved, we will continue with the adoption process. This includes getting the dogs to their adopters on the island, off the island, either through a local pick up if the adopter is located in Puerto Rico, coordinated a flight for the dog to be carrier off of the island to meet with the adopter stateside via volunteers couriers or if the dog is of a larger size coordinating a crate flight for them via volunteers or planned dog freedom flight events. If available we will also work with approved shelters states side to intake dogs who will have a better chance of getting adopted off the island.
